Dr. Luis A. Juncos is the Chief of Nephrology at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System and a Professor of Medicine, Physiology, and Biophysics at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
He received his medical degree from La Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina. Dr. Juncos’ initial post doctorate training was in the Hypertension and Vascular Research Division at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI. He then completed his clinical training in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital, followed by training in Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Dr. Juncos is an active member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System and serves as Deputy Editor for Kidney360, an American Society of Nephrology publication. His clinical interests include general nephrology, with a special focus on critical care nephrology (particularly the diverse conditions associated with acute kidney injury), and extracorporeal therapies. Dr. Juncos has a longstanding interest in researching the physiologic regulation of renal hemodynamics.
